Cream & Tartan

Winter doesn't mean skirts go out of the window, and I think I actually wear them just as much now as I did in the summer because there are new styles and colours coming out constantly (so obviously I have to have them all). I thought I'd put together a look which only consists of high-street brands, from head to toe!

For this look I opted to put together a Boohoo Avah Skirt and Urban Outfitters Cream Ribbed Turtle-neck (similar here), which meant I had a splash of colour and managed to be super comfortable too.

I'm a jeans girl and I always have been because it's just so easy to put an outfit together without really having to think about it. But lately I've found that tucking a top or jumper into a skirt like this is what I'm opting for on days where I want to look like I actually put in a bit more effort, and paired with a few accessories to finish the look, you can't really go wrong with that. Depending on the styles/colours you go for you can mix and match in so many ways if you have a bunch of different tops and skirts and take a look from day to evening appropriate without much fuss.

Sticking with the high-street theme, I opted for this Forever 21 bag which I have worn to death since I bought it because there's actually nothing it doesn't go with. Adding a few rose gold rings and this pretty black strap watch from New Look just makes the details all mesh really well together.

I don't like mixing silver and gold rings on the same hand, so on the other hand I chose a few which would complement the beautiful plait ring which was given to me by my grandma, opting for some bolder New Look pieces.

A hat is definitely one way to add a twist to any outfit, and again there isn't much that it doesnt go with. This one is actually from the men's section in River Island, I looked around the women's for a while but I really preferred the shape and look of this one so much more and just went for it!

A low-heeled boot (because I'm not risking breaking my neck on an everyday basis) and these H&M boots are perfect and so versatile - I find myself reaching for them more than any of my other boots!

Thanks so much to Lauren for taking photos for this post! Let me know what you think down below, and I'd love to hear what you're up to and how you're finding January so far!
