Beauty | Christmas Makeup

I thought I'd put together a makeup look for you guys that I thought would be lovely during the festive season. It is definitely a look that is all about the lips, and keeping the eye makeup, bronzers and blushers quite subtle. I've included all links to products and a list of brushes used is at the bottom!

I thought I would keep the base really fresh and clean, starting off with quite a sheer foundation like Chanel's Vitalumiere Aqua (on happy skin days!) and then going over any areas of redness or darkness with my holy grail concealer; Nars Radiant Creamy concealer. It's just so good, I don't know how they do it but it is quite genius. I went for quite a natural/dewy finish, even though you all know how much I love a matte finish, the weather is far too harsh on my skin at the moment and it would look too dull if I used a matte foundation. I then powder lightly across my t-zone with the Sexy Mama translucent powder from The Balm which isn't at all overpowering and you can start off really sheer and build up as you wish.

Moving onto the eyes, I used the Makeup Revolution Flawless palette for the entire look. I used Paper all over the lid, followed by Almost There and Smudge to go along the crease just subtly (they're all matte which I love!), I didn't use the darkest brown because I wasn't going for anything too striking. After that I went over the centre of my eyelids with Angel which is a shimmery champagne shade and I think it looks super pretty! Next up I sprayed some Mac Fix + onto my liner brush and dipped that into the shade Night from the same palette, which is just a standard black shadow which you can apply really distinctively or blend it out like I have here. I also brought a bit of Almost there just onto my lower lashline as well. To complete the eyes I then finished with Lancome Grandiose mascara, which I have had since august and only now is it coming to an end - so so good! I then filled in my brows with Anastasia Brow Wiz and brushed them through (they can be an absolute nightmare).

Before I put on any bronzer/blusher or highlighter I always place some translucent powder over the area where they go, just to make sure they apply smoothly and not drag away any of the foundation/concealer that I had worked on earlier. I then took the tiniest bit of the Kevin Aucoin Sculpting Powder just along my cheekbones and underneath my jawline, not to bronze up but to put some definition back in. I then applied a very small amount of the Body Shop Flushed blusher along the apples of my cheeks and finished with MaryLou Manizer Highlighter by TheBalm along the top of my cheeks and under my browbone. To make sure they look undetectable and well blended, I take a dense flat top brush like the Nanshy Flawless Foundation brush with some translucent powder and go over them in a stippling motion which I think creates such a lovely blurred effect.

Lastly I applied some Rose Salve by C.O Bigelow to keep my lips moisturised and smooth, and then went on with the Accessorize Intense Colour lipstick in Head Over Heels - isn't it beautiful?! I'm obsessed with the packaging as well as the shade. It is so affordable and a must-have classic red. It is a matte shade which lasts absolutely ages, and in this look I've blended it quite a bit but you can go on straight from the bullet for a much bolder red.

So that's the completed look! Let me know what you think of it and if you like any of the products I've used as well! Also I'd love to know what makeup you'll be wearing this Christmas :)
