Let's Chat | Unsupportive bloggers?

This is something that has been bugging me for a while, and I'm sure that some of you may have picked up on it too. I'm not entirely sure yet if I want to publish this because I'm in two minds, mainly because I don't want people to take it the wrong way, but also because it's only really a tiny percentage of people that actually do it and the community as a whole is so lovely.

I'm talking about the small number of people, who to me, come across as quite ungrateful towards others in the blogging community, and can generally act quite selfish. How many times have you taken part in a bloggers chat on twitter and engaged in conversations, and there's always a few who just take it as an opportunity to get their links in and gain follows, rather than bothering with the conversation and seeing what anyone else has to say? I mean we all exchange links at the end of the chat, and every week I do my best to visit most, if not every single one and leave a comment, and if I come across new blogs that I enjoy, I will follow them too. But realistically you can't expect every week to spam people with links when you're giving them absolutely nothing in return. Same goes for when people say they'll look at a blog just to make you go on theirs, if you have no interest in reading something why lie?

It doesn't cost anything to actually show some appreciation to the fact someone has taken time out of their day to read and comment on your blog, and ignoring it isn't going to build any kind of positive relationship with other bloggers. Neither is continually sending your link to people who have told you that they're already following you a number of times, that's just a sure way to show someone you really take no notice of their support and it's not a good look. Basically I'm just saying show some love because you're not going to get anywhere if you just expect it from others out of nothing. I love letting people know that I've checked out their blog, because I know how great it makes me feel when others do the same for me.

I'm not sure if any of makes sense but it seems to be all I can make of it - quite ironic really because the people who this post is aimed at probably won't be reading this will they? As I said before, I'm only referring to a reaally small number of people, the majority of you guys treat each other so well and deserve all the support you get!
